**Nasir Idris holds an 82% implied probability as the leading outcome in the Kebbi governorship market, reflecting his position as the incumbent APC governor and consensus party nominee for the 2027 election.** Abubakar Malami, the ADC candidate and former Attorney General, sits at 10.8%, while other listed names appear as low-probability or placeholder options in a contest dominated by the two main figures. Idris secured the APC ticket through unanimous ward-level affirmations and primary processes earlier in 2026, followed by a September mega-rally launching joint re-election efforts with President Tinubu. Recent party actions include distributing mobilization vehicles across local governments and endorsements from traditional rulers such as the Emirs of Yauri and Argungu, who cited infrastructure, education, agriculture, and security gains. The August/September replacement of his deputy running mate with Ibrahim Augie, based on legal eligibility advice and executed with consent, has not disrupted reported party unity. Malami’s candidacy gained formal ADC affirmation and INEC clearance in recent weeks, positioning him as the primary opposition challenger after defecting from the PDP orbit and criticizing state policies on insecurity and economic issues. However, the APC’s organizational strength in Kebbi and the weakened state of other opposition structures have kept his market share limited. Traders appear to weigh incumbency advantages, party machinery, and recent consolidation moves as the dominant factors sustaining Idris’s lead ahead of the 2027 vote.

This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who wins the 2027 Kebbi State gubernatorial election. Any interim, acting, or caretaker Governor will not qualify.
If the results are not known definitively by October 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
To be elected Governor, a candidate must satisfy the requirements under Nigerian law, including receiving the highest number of votes cast and the constitutionally required geographic distribution of votes. If no candidate wins the election outright, this market will remain open to account for any further election or runoff, provided this occurs before the resolution deadline. If no candidate has been officially elected by the resolution deadline, this market will resolve to "Other".
This market will resolve based on the results of this election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on official results published by Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian government sources.
