The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’s final season has driven overwhelming trader consensus at 80.5% implied probability, fueled by a record nine Emmy nominations, five Creative Arts wins in early September including writing and directing for a variety series, and the emotional weight of CBS’s May cancellation. This farewell narrative, paired with strong technical and creative nods, positions the show as the clear frontrunner in the newly merged Outstanding Variety Series category, an area award where nominees are judged individually against a high approval threshold. Competitors like Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Saturday Night Live, and The Daily Show trail with far fewer precursor signals or momentum shifts. Final-round voting closed in late August, leaving the September 14 ceremony as the remaining catalyst.
