Travis Kelce enters his 14th NFL season at age 36 after signing a contract extension structured primarily as a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He posted 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns in 17 games during the 2025 campaign, leading the position in targets among several tight ends despite the team's 6-11 finish and playoff miss. Recent training camp reports highlight his continued role as the primary tight end with strong chemistry alongside Patrick Mahomes, who is expected to start Week 1 after recovering from a late-2025 knee injury. Fantasy projections place him near 64 receptions, reflecting reduced volume compared to his peak years amid competition for targets and typical age-related decline in explosiveness. Key variables include the Chiefs' offensive scheme adjustments, his injury durability over a full 17-game schedule with a Week 5 bye, and any midseason role changes if younger options emerge.
