Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 9, 2026, confirming a $100 price increase to $1,199 and $1,299 starting prices for 256GB models, below earlier analyst forecasts of $200-plus hikes driven by rising memory and 2nm chip costs. The models introduce an A20 Pro processor, variable-aperture main camera, vapor chamber cooling, expanded 2TB storage tier, and larger batteries while retaining the prior design language. Pre-orders begin September 12 with availability on September 18 across dozens of markets, aligning with Apple's typical fall cadence and positioning against premium Android rivals. Component cost pressures and competitive benchmarking continue to shape expectations for any final regional adjustments.
