Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on September 9, 2026, setting the base price at $1,199 for the 256GB Pro model and $1,299 for the Pro Max—a $100 increase over the prior generation. This moderated hike, smaller than some analysts’ $200–$300 forecasts tied to memory and component cost pressures, aligned closely with Bloomberg reporting ahead of the event. The models introduce a 2TB storage tier for the first time, an A20 Pro chip, variable-aperture main camera, and other refinements while retaining a familiar design. Preorders begin September 12 with availability on September 18. Traders are also watching the new foldable iPhone Duo priced at $1,999 as a potential benchmark for Apple’s premium pricing strategy amid broader industry cost trends.
