DK Metcalf enters the 2026 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers following a career-low 850 receiving yards on 59 catches in 15 games during his first year in Pittsburgh in 2025. The 28-year-old wideout restructured his contract in late August to create nearly $18 million in cap space while remaining the clear top option in the receiving corps alongside Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie Germie Bernard. An undisclosed injury limited Metcalf through much of training camp, though he returned to full participation ahead of Week 1 and is expected to be available. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, now 42, has stressed prioritizing targets to Metcalf in Mike McCarthy’s offense, which has historically supported high-volume wide receivers, but the presence of additional pass-catchers and Rodgers’ age introduce uncertainty around target share and efficiency for the full regular season.
