The 2026 NFL interceptions thrown race remains tightly bunched across dozens of quarterbacks because no single signal-caller enters the season with a pronounced edge in turnover risk or opportunity. Multiple starters, including recent volume leaders like Geno Smith and Cam Ward plus established passers such as Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence, and Baker Mayfield, operate in offenses balancing aggressive downfield attempts with varying levels of offensive line stability, receiver separation, and defensive pressure. Early-season game scripts, weather-affected passing volumes, and injury-driven changes to supporting casts further compress differences, while historical patterns show the leader typically finishes with only 15-17 picks amid league-wide parity in decision-making and situational football. Trader consensus prices reflect this broad distribution of realistic paths rather than any dominant favorite.
