Jaxson Dart enters his second NFL season as the New York Giants’ starting quarterback under new head coach John Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, who have installed a run-first scheme emphasizing under-center play-action and power running. As a rookie in 2025, Dart rushed for 487 yards and nine touchdowns across 12 starts, capitalizing on designed runs, scrambles, and red-zone opportunities. The staff has stressed protecting his health after multiple concussion evaluations, encouraging slides and reducing unnecessary contact while still incorporating his athleticism through RPOs and quarterback-driven runs. An improved supporting cast, including the return of Malik Nabers and additions to the receiving group and offensive line, could shift more goal-line work to running backs like Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy, potentially capping Dart’s rushing touchdown total despite the emphasis on ground production. His preseason limited reps and ongoing adjustments to the new system add uncertainty heading into the September 13 opener.
