Jaxon Smith-Njigba enters the 2026 season as Seattle’s clear alpha wide receiver after leading the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards and 119 receptions in 2025 while earning Offensive Player of the Year honors. A new four-year, $168.6 million extension and the departure of prior supporting pieces position him for another heavy target share under new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury. Week 1 production of eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown against New England, including efficient work with backup Drew Lock after Sam Darnold’s early hip injury, underscores his central role. Versatility in alignments and route-running dominance support continued volume, though scheme shifts and quarterback health will influence exact reception totals over the 17-game schedule.
