Caleb Williams enters the 2026 season with elevated passing volume expectations after a 3,942-yard, 27-touchdown 2025 campaign and a dominant Week 1 opener in which he completed 21 of 29 passes for 269 yards and two scores while adding 65 rushing yards. In his second year under offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Williams has demonstrated greater command of the scheme, evidenced by improved decision-making and intermediate accuracy against the Panthers. Chicago’s supporting cast—including Rome Odunze, Luther Burden, Colston Loveland, and D’Andre Swift—combined with a run-heavy approach that still creates explosive play-action opportunities, positions the Bears for sustained offensive output. A demanding schedule and emphasis on efficiency rather than raw attempts will shape his final passing total, with Week 2 against Minnesota providing an early test of sustained production.
