Brock Purdy opened the 2026 season with 205 passing yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Rams, adding 29 rushing yards while showing improved mobility in Kyle Shanahan's scheme. After missing most of 2025 with shoulder and toe injuries that limited him to nine games and 2,167 passing yards, Purdy enters with a revamped supporting cast featuring Mike Evans, a returning Deebo Samuel, and Christian McCaffrey, though tight end George Kittle's status and the season-long absence of Ricky Pearsall create uncertainty around volume. The 49ers' upcoming schedule includes favorable early matchups, but Purdy's durability over a full 17-game slate remains the primary variable shaping total regular-season passing yards.
