The 2026-27 Betway Premiership runner-up market remains tightly bunched because Mamelodi Sundowns have established an early lead at the top while the clubs immediately behind them trade results and points in a narrow cluster. Orlando Pirates, the defending champions, sit second after an unbeaten start and strong defensive displays, but AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs under new coach Fernando da Cruz, Sekhukhune United, and Stellenbosch have all posted competitive early records that keep second place fluid. Promoted sides such as Milford and Kruger United add further uncertainty through mixed results, while fixture congestion from CAF commitments and the absence of any dominant mid-table form mean no single challenger has pulled clear. Trader consensus reflects this parity, with recent match outcomes and squad depth across multiple clubs sustaining the even pricing.
