Taiwanese local elections are scheduled to be held on November 28, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Magistrate of Yunlin County as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder Magistrates appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known, or no candidate has been elected, by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the results of the elections as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Taiwanese government, specifically the Central Election Commission (https://db.cec.gov.tw/).Chang Chia-chun of the Kuomintang maintains a commanding lead in trader pricing for the November 28, 2026, Yunlin County magistrate race, reflecting her party’s nomination and the Chang family’s established local organizational strength in a county long dominated by KMT networks. Incumbent Magistrate Chang Li-shan’s policy continuity on agriculture, infrastructure, and smart governance has provided a stable base, reinforced by recent KMT endorsements and coordination with allied candidates. The Democratic Progressive Party’s Liu Chien-kuo, backed by President Lai Ching-te’s direct campaign leadership and emphasis on central-local coordination, has consolidated opposition support but trails significantly in implied probability. Other registered candidates register minimal market movement. Late developments such as turnout shifts, coalition realignments, or unresolved local issues ahead of election day could still narrow the gap, though current pricing indicates limited scope for reversal.
