This market will resolve to "Yes" if Argentina begins to peg its currency to the United States dollar (USD), or adopts the United States dollar as official legal tender, between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". An announcement that dollarization will begin will not be sufficient to resolve this market to "Yes" - for this market to resolve to "Yes", dollarization must have actually begun. Note: a peg does not need to be 1:1 to USD. This market's resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting indicating either of the listed scenarios have begun. This market will resolve to "Yes" if Argentina begins to peg its currency to the United States dollar (USD), or adopts the United States dollar as official legal tender, June 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. This market's resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting indicating either of the listed scenarios have begun.**President Javier Milei’s administration has prioritized fiscal surpluses, inflation reduction to around 33% annually, reserve accumulation above $47 billion, and a managed floating peso within inflation-adjusted bands since lifting most capital controls in 2025, rather than advancing formal dollarization.** No legislative or executive measures to replace the peso with the U.S. dollar as legal tender or establish an official peg have moved forward through mid-2026. Recent steps include a July 2026 central bank charter reform bill limiting government financing, eased dollar-lending rules to channel deposits into credit, and ongoing IMF-supported programs that favor gradual liberalization and reserve building over abrupt regime change. Traders assign low implied probability to completion by late 2026 because the policy focus remains on stabilization, commodity-driven dollar inflows, and institutional reforms ahead of the 2027 presidential vote, with private dollar holdings and stablecoin use already widespread but not translating into official adoption.
