Chung Tung-chin holds a commanding lead in the Miaoli County magistrate race as the incumbent with approval ratings above 70 percent and satisfaction scores exceeding 80 percent in multiple 2026 surveys on economic development, tourism, infrastructure, and social welfare. He registered for reelection in early September with unified backing from Kuomintang lawmakers, former magistrates, and Taiwan People’s Party figures, reinforcing his position in a traditionally KMT-leaning county after rejoining the party in 2025. The Democratic Progressive Party nominee Chen Pin-an faces structural challenges with limited visibility and no significant pan-blue challengers. Traders price this outcome at 90.3 percent for Chung, reflecting incumbency advantages and performance metrics ahead of the November 28 vote, though late developments such as turnout shifts or unforeseen candidate entries could still influence results.
