This market will resolve to "Yes" if a safety car is deployed at any point during the 2026 F1 Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for Sep 13, 2026. The market will resolve to "No" if the race is completed without any safety car deployment. If the 2026 F1 Spanish Grand Prix is canceled or rescheduled to a date after Sep 20, 2026, this market will resolve 50-50. Virtual Safety Car (VSC) deployments do not count as safety car deployments for the purpose of this market. Only physical safety car deployments where the safety car enters the track will result in a "Yes" resolution. The resolution source will be the official Formula 1 website and a consensus of credible sports news reporting. The new Madring street circuit in Madrid hosted its debut Spanish Grand Prix on September 13 with narrow runoffs and barriers close to the racing line, factors that typically elevate safety car risk on unfamiliar layouts. Traders priced a full safety car at near-zero probability because the event produced only a single virtual safety car on lap 15 for Lance Stroll’s stranded Aston Martin, after which the race ran cleanly to the flag with no further incidents, mechanical failures, or debris requiring a physical safety car deployment. Historical data from the prior Barcelona venue showed infrequent full safety car appearances, and the processional nature of this race aligned with that pattern despite pre-event concerns over the hybrid track. A late-race collision, sudden weather shift, or multiple simultaneous retirements remain the primary scenarios that could still have triggered one.
