Incumbent Republican Brian Fitzpatrick holds an edge in Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District, a swing seat covering Bucks County and part of Montgomery County, due to his established name recognition, bipartisan record, and substantial fundraising advantage over Democratic challenger Bob Harvie. Harvie, a Bucks County commissioner who won his May 2026 primary, has narrowed the gap in some late-August and early-September polls showing a statistical tie, fueled by attacks on data-center development, affordability, and corporate PAC donations. Expert race ratings still classify the contest as Lean or Likely Republican, aligning with trader pricing that reflects Fitzpatrick’s incumbency advantages and the district’s recent voting patterns despite heavy outside spending expected from both parties ahead of the November general election.
