Recent polling for the 2026 midterm generic congressional ballot shows Black voter support for Republican candidates clustered in the low-to-mid teens, with Pew Research indicating 8% GOP preference amid 68% Democratic support and notable undecided shares, while other surveys like Morning Consult and Echelon Insights place the figure near 15-19%. This range aligns with 2024 presidential gains for Republicans but reflects subsequent erosion tied to economic pressures and approval ratings in the low teens. The tight distribution between 10-11% and 12-13% outcomes stems from poll variability, questions over turnout patterns, and limited recent shifts in party identification, where Republican lean among Black adults hovers around 14%. Developments such as economic data releases or targeted outreach could widen separation ahead of November.
