Mercedes held strong long-run pace and tyre management advantages on the high-speed layout, while Ferrari’s internal issues and Alpine’s surprise pole by Pierre Gasly added volatility. Recent form favored the Mercedes duo, with Antonelli’s recovery pace and Russell’s qualifying strength influencing trader positioning ahead of the 53-lap race. Home-soil expectations and championship implications further shaped sentiment around key driver matchups.
