Cuba maintains no extradition treaty with the United States, and Castro has remained on the island, where he retains protected status as a senior revolutionary figure despite his advanced age. Recent bilateral talks between the two governments have focused on broader diplomatic and economic issues rather than custody or rendition. No verified reports indicate Castro has traveled outside Cuban jurisdiction or faced any transfer proceedings. These structural and diplomatic barriers continue to shape trader assessments of near-term outcomes.
